Mansfield 6-1 Oldham: Nicky Maynard scores hat-trick as Stags rout Latics

Nicky Maynard claimed a first-half ruined nine-man Oldham 6-1 in Saturdays Sky Bet League Two clash.
Maynard had netted twice when Latics had two men sent off at a 37th minute that was sensational – and the screw then turned.
When Maynard led mansfields early dominance was rewarded.
He made it 2-0 three minutes later, now tapping home from close range after Otis Khan drilled the ball and had obtained to the by-line that was left.
However, after 37 minutes, Oldham lost their heads since the Filipe Morais went in late on Neal Bishop, whose move attained Mal Benning, that was in turn struck by an awful Tomas Egert challenge. Morais was shown a second yellow card and also Egert got a straight red.
But, a mistake from goalkeeper Conrad Logan talented a goal after 43 minutes to the nine guys.
Tom Hamer tucked the ball off to decrease the shortage but – minutes – Maynard rounded the goalkeeper to finish his own hat-trick in the breath of half-time and hurried off onto a Conor Shaughnessy through-ball at stoppage time.
Following 56 seconds, a soft low cross from Benning eluded keeper and defence and rolled into the web off Oldham defender David Wheater as Mansfield expanded their edge before a house saw Maynard set up Dapo Afolayan to roll a fifth.
Oldhams misery continued as substitute Dylan Fage was taken away on a stretcher after Hamer had brought down Afolayan with six minutes remaining before substitute Jimmy Knowles bagged his first league goal using a penalty that was cool.
