It takes 20 years to construct a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you believe about this, you’ll do things differently. -Warren Buffet
If more companies — namely online sportsbooks and casinos — followed this advice, gambling online would be much more enjoyable…and much less stressful.
I would bet that BetOnline wishes that they did. They have made choices a couple of years back that’s probably cost them tens of thousands , hundreds of thousands, possibly even millions of dollars, because of lost business from poor PR.
We’ll be sharing some cases of these beside you in our review. Because while we wholeheartedly recommend BetOnline to our visitors — and believe that now they’re a safe and legit gambling company — we believe you have a right to know the whole story before opting to play with here.

WHAT DID BETONLINE DO?
2019 MAIN REVIEW
CASINO & SKILL GAMES
First Things First: What Can BetOnline Do Exactly?
What just did BetOnline do to make so many people mad?
We believe that a better question is this: what did not they do?
BetOnline’s poor decisions crosses the spectrum of unethical behaviour, ranging from telling likes to withholding cash to having poor security.
There are loads of examples we could show you. But LegitGamblingSites.com has already done the job for us. They discovered several instances, which you can see for yourself in their BetOnline review.
Here’s our TL;DR version:
BetOnline Told a Fib
After BetOnline first introduced their poker product, they whined about what system it was on. They claimed to be about the Hero Poker Network, even though they were really on the Action Poker Network. There were stories about the way they had been on the Chico Poker Network, but were kicked away.
Later reports (in BetOnline) indicated that things were fine and mended, and that BetOnline was (and still is) on the Chico Poker Network.
Odd thing to enjoy, eh? (Though we might lie too if we were on a shoddy network such as Action.)
Everybody agrees that BetOnline lying was a dumb move and a bad way to advertise a new product. It doesn’t instill confidence. Plus it makes you wonderwhy would they lie about something so trivial in the first place?
$60,000 Confiscated for No Reason
There have already been many, MANY reports about BetOnline confiscating money from clients. The reasoning was almost always because the client supposedly cheated, although no proof was provided from BetOnline (in the examples we have read).
One case that caught our attention was of a pro who had $60,000+ confiscated because BetOnline said he cheated. They refused to send him all his palms, but did offer to send him the hand histories that showed him jobless (for evidence ).
He got them . What he did get was empty promises about how they were on the road, and also the runaround when they showed up. They eventually told him they couldn’t send him the hand histories since the files were too big.
(Anyone who understands anything about online poker and hands histories — let alone about downloading files into your own computer — knows what a crock this is. And, why would not you send proof someone cheated if you have nothing to hide?)
Eventually Sportsbook Review (SBR) got involved and assisted the player get his cash back. His last update mentions being alleviated about the way it worked out for himbut also said the same thing happened to his friend.
Chip Dumping $50 Means You Had BetOnline $30,000+
In this case the participant didn’t anything wrong — he chip-dumped into his buddy. But here’s the kicker:
He chip-dumped to his friend at a HEADS UP table where nobody else would be hurt. He did it his buddy could have an extra $50 to play with at BetOnline.
The funny part is they were playing from precisely the same house at the moment. Most sites wouldn’t even let two individuals from the exact same IP address sit down at the same table — but BetOnline did.
The individual had his account suspended (way after the fact, whereas many sites would have captured it much earlier ), which no disputes thinks was a wrong move on BetOnline’s part. What’s however, is the way they wanted to also take his 37,000 he earned because that episode.
Forum members suggested that most legit websites would not have allowed two individuals from the same IP to sit at the same table. And, if they did, the moment they guessed chip dumping had happened, the player’s accounts would come under review. He’d not have the chance to earn the $37,000.
However, now that he did, BetOnline wanted it. Buttechnically, the money should go to whomever was hurt by this player’s activities (that was no one). So it’s absurd BetOnline believes they need to have the ability to keep it.
BetOnline Knows Your Own Passwords
The previous example we want to talk about is an instance in which a BetOnline rep outed how the staff understood their client’s passwords and login numbers. You can see the live chat log here.
The original poster has a good point. If everybody in the business has access to your login information, what is stopping them from running a VPN, logging into accounts and accepting your money?
The BetOnline rep did not have a good answer, only a»ha ha ok sir.»
Scary stuff. Scroll down the discussion thread and you’ll see more examples. It is ridiculous.
What is even more ridiculous is the way these instances are a drop in the bucket compared to the sheer variety of (similar) complaints . A quick Google search for»BetOnline scams» will keep you busy.
Subsequently BetOnline Does One Funny: Why They Acquire SportsBetting.ag
During the same time BetOnline was struggling, SportsBetting.ag was unable to. They were trying hard to pay their clients.
Thent a few months after a story broke — BetOnline obtained SportsBetting.ag.
The crazy part was not so much the purchase, it was the simple fact that BetOnline also consented to be on the hook for all of the current and past payouts. Even after all their stingy-like shenanigans.
An excerpt from SBR:
Most importantly, the new investment group is dedicated to get SportsBetting.ag winners paid in a more expedited manner.
«The new shareholders unconditionally guarantee past and future payouts from SportsBetting.ag,» the rep said. «But as there is a sizeable backlog of pending payouts, they have to be conducted through various fraud checks, fulfilled and guaranteed. Once the backlog is complete, customers will experience drastically improved payouts thanks in part to updated payment choices, including same day choices.»
No one knows exactly how much BetOnline needed to make in past payments. In reality, BetOnline was reportedly»shocked» for more than $1.5 million in liabilities that wasn’t reported from the prior management. I think it would be safe to presume that the past debts exceeded $1.5 million — and apparently BetOnline has paid it all off.
What Does That Mean for BetOnline in 2019? What Does That Mean for You?
Honestly, we’ve had difficulty finding anything negative to report about BetOnline from over the last year or so.
There are a few complaints; normal stuff all businesses face that we’ll address later on in our review when it is logical. But it looks to us like the majority of BetOnline’s problems are over.
They even have satisfied customers, if you can believe it.
Now, what exactly does that mean for you? In the event you forgive and forget? Are they secure enough for you to join, make a deposit and play? We will be honest — there’s no way we would have played BetOnline back in 2011-2012 when we had known or heard about any of the reports above. Nobody in their right mind could. You’d be safer lighting your money on fire.
And we also don’t want to downplay the mistakes they’ve made. Lying, making baseless accusations, withholding funds and insecure applications isn’t to be taken lightly.
However, since purchasing SportsBetting.ag and adding new management to oversee operations, things have improved drastically. So much so we’re comfortable today urging them to our readers.
And it’s not only us. If you have a look at other BetOnline reviews, you’ll see similar thought processes. Typically the reviewers first condemned them for their actions (in 2011-2012) and advocated NOT playing there, only to have a change of heart when they saw how much BetOnline altered.
So, here’s where we stand on the matter —
BetOnline has made mistakes and is far from an ideal sportsbook, poker room or casino. They had and continue to have their shortcomings, the most recent of which we highlight in our review below.
But, as best as we can tell, they’ve righted their wrongs and continue to improve what they offer to players. So we feel secure having accounts here.
It’s your responsibility to choose if you feel the same way.
2019 Main Review of BetOnline
Together with their previous out of the way, let’s jump into what is important today — and that’s what BetOnline offers in terms of banking, betting options and promotions.
Deposit and Cash Out Options, Fees and Time Frames
BetOnline offers a solid choice of banking options. However, you’ll want to keep in mind that what’s available for you will probably be determined by where you live.
Let us start with their deposit options.
Listed below are the payment methods BetOnline takes and the min/max limits for each:
Visa (Person to Person)
Person to Person
$50/$900 — BetOnline covers any fees over $300. Money Orders
$10/no Maximum Neteller
$10/no Maximum Book to Book
Book to Book
$500/no max Bank Wire
$1,000/no maximum Check
Check $1,500/$24,900 Diner’s Club
The largest complaint about deposits would be their 6 percent fees for debit and credit cards. They are one of the only sites which charge for (credit/debit card) deposits. Bovada’s among those other kinds, charging 4.9%.
When you’re ready to cash out your winnings, then you can utilize:
Person to Person
$50/$500 — Can take 12-36 hours. Fees will run $26-$101. Bank Wire
$500/$24,900 — Can take up to 10 days. Fees will run $45-$75. ATM
ATM Only Card
$100/$2,500. Check By Mail
Check by Mail, Courier or Express
$500/$2,500 — Depending on which option you pick, this can take 7-30 days and will cost you $25-$50 NOT INCLUDING the fees your bank may charge. Bitcoin
$20/$5,000 — Will cost you 2% (of the total). Skrill
$25/$9,900 — Takes around 36 hours. Just 3 requests allowed a week. Book to Book
Book to Book
$500/$15,000 — Transfers are completed within 24 hours. Neteller
$25/$9,900 — Takes up to 36 hours and will cost you $20. Only 3 payouts allowed a week.
What I don’t like is how you’ll pay a fee for every banking choice. Even bitcoin, which is usually free in most sportsbooks and casinos. But here you are going to pay a 2% fee.
Nevertheless, I have seen firsthand reports from customers who say they’ve received payments within 10 days, bank transfers within 3 days and bank cables in 2-3 days. This is quickly considering they are from the US marketplace.
BetOnline says nothing about it on their site, but I’ve seen reports which indicate BetOnline provides you a $50 charge monthly if you put in your request on a Friday. In many cases this won’t cover the entire fee, but it is better than nothing.
BetOnline’s Products: What Can You Bet On or Play?
BetOnline is an»all in one» business. That means you can bet on sports betting, play casino and poker games.
Their longest standing, and probably most popular product, is that their sportsbook. So let’s start there.
Bet on Sports, Horses and Financials
BetOnline provides action on sports, horses and financing.
Within their sportsbook they more or less cover the most well-known sports in america. Those include:
You can also wager on stocks and prop bets on these markets:
Canadian Football Cycling
Women’s Pro Basketball (WNBA)
Football One option they have added lately is eSports. It’s no surprise really, given how quickly the industry is growing. Each bookmaker is jumping on the bandwagon and offering odds on all the greatest leagues and tournaments.
BetOnline is, too, even though it appears like they’re only dipping their toe in the water to check the temperature.
I say that because — as of right now — they just have moneyline odds for one match-up / league. Compare that to Bovada who is covering 5+ games across about 10+ leagues/tournaments.
It is a large difference. I mean, who would you rather go to for eSports betting?
That being said, I think it’s a fantastic idea to provide BetOnline the benefit of the doubt…for now. It is possible they are still attempting to find their bearings in this growing market. Perhaps they have plans to expand their eSports options in the not too distant future.
What they do have going for them is that their chances on the match-up I am comparing to Bovada. They are offering marginally better pricing for the exact same exact match.
There’s no way to tell if that’s always going to be the case, nor can it matter if they never expand this section of their sportsbook.
However, it’s reason enough to keep your eye on these.
They provide live gambling also. These options change continuously, of course, to coincide with what events or games are moving on. When I last looked they had lines for soccer, tennis and baseball. You can even keep track of a couple of games concurrently using their multi-event tab and program for future games with their live betting calendar.
One thing they’re known for are their higher-than-average betting limitations. These vary from $1 to $25,000. Most markets will probably max out at between $1,000 to $3,000. But it only depends. You can also raise your wagering levels by contacting their Player Services.
Their sportsbook also runs a reasonable number of promotions, and much more than you will see in their racebook and financials segment combined. A few of the better choices include:
50% Welcome Bonus — Get a 50% match on your initial deposit up to $2,500.50% Kickoff Reload — Get a 50% reload bonus up to $1,000. Live Bet Free Play — Get a $25 free play. This is less or more insurance — create a bet and if you lose, they’ll reimburse you around $25.
Beyond that you will see a listing of races in their page. Each listing tells you how many spacious races there are, which should you click it is going to expand to show you the races, horses, jockeys and chances.
If you are unfamiliar with their site or horse gambling, a good section to search through is their racebook info tab within their navigation. Here you’ll find information on:
Their track limits. This tells you that the max you can bet per race.Payoff chances. Find out how much you will make in case your bet(s) win.Their rules and the kinds of bets you can make.Horse betting tips, FAQs and terms (in case you don’t understand what a word or phrase means).
It is a good section if you are new to horse betting.
And that is about it. This section is much more compact than their sportsbook.
That said, their racebook does have a few offers too, though nowhere near the quality or volume that their sportsbook offers.
Here are some of their offers:
Track Rebate — Get a 7% rebate on your bets daily without a min volume or caps on how much you can earn. $25 Risk Free Bet — Make a bet for the first time from the racebook. If you shed BetOnline will reimburse you around $25.
Last up is that their financials section. Here it is possible to wager on currencies, indices and commodities. Your gambling options include touch, array, turbo and a single touch. The assets/markets it is possible to wager on will depend on your wager kind.
This segment looks like an afterthought. It certainly doesn’t get the attention or advertising BetOnline’s other segments do.
Their poker room is one of the most popular options for Americans. They are part of the Chico Poker Network, who’s 13th in total traffic positions, but is 3rd for US poker websites. When I last checked they had about 2,100 players on their website.
In 2016 BetOnline conducted a much-needed software update. In the past they had several complaints regarding the quality of the applications. This included complaints regarding fuzzy graphics, bad sound and animation quality.
But after their upgrade we’ve seen suggestions they might have some of the best software in the US market.
From worst to best in 1 update? That might be pushing it. But in line with the pictures I’ve seen, their software DOES look much better.
However, there are still several places BetOnline can improve.
At this time they have a download for PC and Macs. However, they don’t have some choices for mobile players, and that we think is a no-brainer in this day and age. They also only provide holdem, omaha and 7-card stud. It’d be nice to see more game options.
In general, however, it is nice to see they are making advancements and are getting more competitive with what other high tier US poker sites offer.
Speaking of which, a Number of their poker promotions or offers include:
Welcome Bonus — They’ll match your deposit 100% up to a max of $2,500. They pay this out to you $5 at one time. You’ll have 60 days to clear the offer. $50,000 GTD — They are running a $50,000 guarantee for $99. $90,000 Guaranteed — BetOnline promises greater than $90,000 in championship prize pools each and every weekend.
They have a few leaderboard and cash race challenges, too.
And it’s not exactly a»bonus,» however, the matches here should be milder due to the US traffic and the crossover traffic from their sportsbook or casino. Making money from their poker tables ought to be simpler here in contrast to other poker (only) sites.
Casino and Skill Games
Here you will find a great deal of game choices ranging from table games to slots to video poker and skill games. Their games come from the Rival Gaming and BetSoft software, each of which are famous for creating games that are topnotch. Here is how their matches breakdown:

If you Encounter a Issue or have a question, you can reach out to BetOnline using one of the following options:
LIVE CHAT (for real money accounts only)
1 thing to find here are the accounts I’ve seen about how BetOnline’s service is unfriendly.
1 example came out of a poker player turned site reviewer. He shared his expertise, which was among the worst I’ve heard , let alone heard about BetOnline.
Here’s an excerpt from Gambling the Odds:
Since BetOnline’s poker software isn’t high-quality, I expected them to excel at client services. How else could you explain the prevalence of the poker room?
Turns out I was wrong, big-time. In reality, through their live chat service (and that I just have to mention it in this BetOnline review), I had the worst customer service experience in my life so far.
After the live chat session began, I needed to wait for a couple of minutes until the customer service person bothered to reply, not only completely ignoring my question but asking for my password and username as well. Can you feel comfortable entering your password and username to some live chat box? I sure didn’t.
I explained that I don’t wish to input that information to a chat room and, more importantly, the question requires no such advice because it was about BetOnline.ag generally. I had to wait ten more minutes for»help» (I use that word loosely ), while receiving»Thanks for waiting. I’ll be with you in just a minute…» every now and then.
Nevertheless, I’ve also heard that the opposite. A reviewer who plays on BetOnline says they offer excellent customer services. In addition, he says that your best bet is to benefit from their live chat (only available to account holders).
Their experiences are polar opposites. This implies to us that BetOnline might have inconsistencies with how they manage customer support…an
