Claressa Shields vs Ivana Habazin fight off after trainer attacked at weigh-in

Claressa Shields fight in her hometown of Flint, Michigan, has been called off after the coach of her opponent was injured in an altercation before the weigh-in.
Shields was presumed to combat Ivana Habazin of Croatia on Saturday night, but that bout has been called away from the WBC following Habazins coach, James Ali Bashir, was hospitalised following Fridays event.
The WBC strongly condemns any act of violence at any event related to our game, and specially the dreadful attack which took place in an official activity surrounding this occasion, the body said.
The WBC is certain that the corresponding authorities will use the full scope to the law to the unfortunate incident, it added.
After the 2 fighters were at the event in Flint on the scales, bashir was seen negotiating with an unknown person.
It was supposed to be Shields first professional fight in her hometown.
The Olympic winner has won titles at the super middleweight degree, and she and a triumph over previously unbeaten Christina Hammer merged the middleweight belts in April.
She took this fight attempting to develop into a three-division champion.
It was postponed because of an accident to Shields, although the Shields-Habazin fight was initially scheduled for August 17.
