Shaun Edwards’ future likely to be in France after World Cup

Shaun Edwards’ coaching future appears set to be in France following the Rugby World Cup.
Edwards will abandon his assistant coach role with Wales following the championship, ending a 12-year stint with the team.
During this moment Wigan rugby league star Edwards has been a key figure in restraining three Grand Slams, four Six Nations title triumphs and a World Cup semi-final appearance.
He had been poised to create a post-World Cup return to Wigan but this agreement was declared as officially being off and he then rejected a brand new Welsh Rugby Union contract.
France – along with a part with the national group – continues to be his next port of call for many months.
Talking on Monday, defence expert Edwards stated that he was»going to France,» while also adding there were»a few things to sort on the market, therefore it’s not definite.»
Asked if he’d rather go into the World Cup in Japan settled within his thoughts on what he is doing next, Edwards added:»I’ve gone in the previous two World Cups knowing if we don’t do well I will have no work later.

The French Rugby Federation has so far made no announcement regarding any swoop for Edwards, but FRF president Bernard Laporte is a known admirer of this Lancastrian.
Edwards, meanwhile, says he is»a little bit ill» of watching different nations competition Rugby World Cup finals.
And he has set himself a goal of breaking that mould by helping the occasion is reached by Wales on.
Edwards watched later captain Sam Warburton was sent off against France, as Wales endured an agonising departure, after an Wales team saw itself edged out in Twickenham by opponents South Africa.
«We’ve played relatively well at World Cups so much,» he explained. «But I’m a little bit sick of seeing everybody else in the finals. That is how I work.
«There is only one defence trainer from the northern hemisphere who has won the World Cup, and that is Phil Larder [with England in 2003].
«Phil was a excellent mentor for me he led the way for individuals from rugby club to come into rugby union, him and Clive Griffiths – and now I have got a lot to thank them for.
«So I have put myself a little goal, attempting to get into a final and only take it from there.
«I was so happy I did not have to see the one [final] in New Zealand (2011) as we had been on the plane home, thank God.
«I didn’t watch it for three or four months afterwards, but then saw how shut France were to winning it. And the previous one (2015), it had been painful watching it»
