Which driver one of Newgarden, Power, Rossi, Pagenaud, and Dixon gets the best chance of winning the 2019 Indy 500?
The final Indy Racing League event took place at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on May 11. Simon Pagenaud won the race. Pagenaud’s been in excellent shape. He has finished in the Top 10 in 5 of the past 6 events.
Pagenaud deserves a long look as a driver that may triumph on Sunday. However, he might not be the best choice. The best choice among the favorites could be Scott Dixon.
Dixon has been on fire in the previous 6 races. He ended thirteenth in the Circuit of Americas. However, outside of that finish, he scored a second in St. Petersburg on March 10. He also finished second in Alabama on April 7 and next in Indianapolis on May 11. The next place finish in Long Beach on April 14 was likewise great.
In 2018, Dixon finished third in the Indianapolis 500 behind Will Power and Ed Carpenter. He’s yet to win this season, but he is due. In the chances, he is the favored to back.
Which driver between +1000 and +2000 chances can win the race on Sunday?
Ed Carpenter doesn’t offer much better chances than the favorites in +1100. There’s a lot to like about his chances, though. He finished second at the 2018 Indianapolis 500. Also, but he’s the only owner/driver at the Indy Racing League.
He won the pole over Pagenaud for Sunday’s race. Carpenter needs to put his best foot forward on May 26. He is definitely worth considering at the odds.
Can there be a driver between +2500 and +5000 odds that may win the 2019 Indy 500?
Felix Rosenqvist provides +5000 chances to win the Indianapolis 500. The chances aren’t a true manifestation of his opportunities. Rosenqvist finished eighth in the Grand Prix of Indianapolis on May 11. Not only that, but he has 4 Top 10 finishes in the past 5 Indy Car occasions. He deserves a long look.
Conor Daly in +5000 also deserves mentioning. Daly will begin Sunday’s race eleventh. Who knows, if Daly gets into the race away? He is in a great striking place to pull off the upset.
