This weekend, we have a 12-fight PPV card in Brazil. DraftKings has some solid contests for us to acquire a great deal of money from this week. The main GPP is a $15 buy-in and $30k goes to 1st place with a total of $150k being paid out. They also have a brand new Qualifier only contest for $175,000. There will be 100 qualifiers for that contest and they will compete for a $50k first location cost and $175k will probably be distributed between all 100 admissions that match. I will attempt to receive my 3rd seat this week to maximum it if I could. Those Qualifier only contests can be real bankroll suckers, so be cautious chasing those overly hard. I’ll likely stick to the very best GPP this week and throw a small number of entries at that $30k prize, and then I will likely take a couple shots at the Q. I will also be publishing H2Hs in addition to picking up H2Hs throughout the week to get a fantastic amount of drama into cash games.
With that said, let’s get into a couple plays I enjoy this week Together with my fade of this week:
Money Game play of the week — Raoni Barcelos — $9,600
Barcelos is the cash game play for me this week. On the betting line he is currently -1100 and he’s -206 to win ITD. He is also +110 to win in round 1. He’s my favourite play on the board, the only real issue is being able to afford him. For cash games, I will for sure match him in. For GPPs it’s going to be more difficult to have 6 wins paying up for his huge salary, but I enjoy him there as well. I simply won’t make it a priority for him into these tournament lineups, but cash I want that -1100 on my group for a safe win.
GPP drama of this week — Ryan Spann — $8,800
This is a battle I’d like to target. My favorite drama is Spann however Little Nog is in play also. The best thing for FDGTD is -280 and I believe Spann could win via KO or sub, and it could be 1st round too. I think he could compete with the $9k fighters and that he could be a man that kicks off them the 1st place lineup. Little Nog is the better fighter however and Spann doesn’t have a fantastic chin , so that I really could see Nog winning via KO. I really don’t think that is probably, so that I won’t be heavy on him, but he can make my player pool. Spann is a guy I believe is in play in most formats and I will attempt to be obese on him. It is more of a grin on Little Nog at this time, but I don’t see this battle going all 3-rounds and that I like Spann to find the win.
Underdog drama of the week — Alex Volkanovski — $7,800
On DraftKings, I anticipate Volkanovski to be very chalky and rightfully so. He is my preferred play in this battle and his past scores pretty much make him a guy you can’t fade if you’re MMEing. I don’t see him having the ceiling he did in his previous fights vs Aldo, but these numbers are difficult to ignore. His 6 UFC wins have each totaled over 100 DK points. From latest fight to his introduction, these are his DK scores: 107, 100, 129, 116, 107, and 115. That’s pretty amazing. I believe he’s a good chance of upsetting the legend here and possibly getting a finish for another score. I don’t believe Aldo is a fantastic matchup for him to show that 100+ stage ceiling however at $7.8k we don’t require that lots of points. I think IF he wins, he easily pays off that wages.
Fade of the week — Luana Carolina — $8,900
There is no way I am paying $8.9k for Carolina. She is the fade of the week and if it disturbs me then it disturbs me. I really don’t see that being the case though even when she wins. I expect this fight to stay standing and I really don’t watch her striking at a speed to cover off her price tag without getting a finish. I don’t believe she gets that complete so even when she wins I think she scores nearer to 75 DK points and at her wages which won’t wind up on the perfect lineup. Even if I create 150 lineups this week I won’t receive any exposure to Carolina.
